Over the past two weeks, more than 500 temperature records have been broken, with Japan, the Korean Peninsula, and parts of eastern Russia experiencing sustained and intensifying heat.

北半球はこの時期悲惨な状態で、このままこの傾向が続くということは暮らし方を変えないといけないのは間違いありません。が、 SDGsを国連が推進しても、地球温暖化(global warming)対策は少しも効果なく、かえって悪化の一途をたどっています。
しかし、２０年くらい前からこの傾向は顕著で、夏の厳しさは少しずつ経験してきています。電力削減、二酸化炭素の排出削減、ゴミを出さない、再生エネルギーの利用などなど、努力はしてきたと思いますが、その効果はありません。口ではどうとでも言えますが、一度揉め事が起こると誰もそんなつまらないことは考えないのです。目の前の問題に対処してあらゆる手段を使って自己保身に走り、欲望のままに行動します。
人間もただの動物ですが、自然を破壊する動物です。作為的に自然を自分の住みやすい環境に無理矢理変えて生きるたちの悪い動物です。おそらく人類という種も絶滅するでしょう。その日はそう遠くないかもしれません。地球の歩みの中のほんの一時、コロナウイルスのように地球に悪影響を与え絶滅し、次の地球の時代に移るのです。ただそれだけでしょう。
考えてみれば、摂氏40度や50度なんて大したことはない温度です。ただ人類は生きることはできません。私たちが生きられる温度帯は奇跡で、地球がそれを維持してきたことも奇跡です。奇跡という言い方は人類向きの言い方で、ただの偶然です。それがそう長く続くというのも偶然です。Heatwaveなどといっても、現状では生きられる範囲です。

ただ願うことは、単純ですが、政治も宗教も社会も経済も争いはやめて助け合うようにしてほしいと思うばかりです。一人の力ではどうしようもないですが、その輪が大きく大きくなることに尽力したいと思います。「私は人と争わない」と決めています。私ができるのはそれくらいです。
